Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (WA)

CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (WA) – equips students with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to work safely and responsibly on construction sites in Western Australia. Commonly known as the White Card course, this unit is a mandatory requirement for anyone entering the construction industry, ensuring compliance with national and state safety regulations.

By completing CPCWHS1001, students will obtain the White Card, a qualification required to enter and work on construction sites in Western Australia. The knowledge and skills gained through this unit ensure that workers are equipped to contribute to a safe and compliant construction environment, protecting themselves and others from potential harm.

  • This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

  • Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

    Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 6 Hours

  • An individual undertaking this course will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

    Proof of age must be 14 years or over.
    Valid working email address.
    Three (3) current and valid forms of identification (including at least one that contains your name and date of birth). You will be provided with an Evidence of Identification Checklist (EOI) to complete on enrolment.
    Physical capacity to demonstrate the correct donning and removing of PPE for assessment.
    This course MUST be delivered in Western Australia only. Students undertaking this course must be a resident of the state in which the course is being undertaken.

  • Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written, oral, and practical assessment tasks.

  • Answering a series of multiple choice and short answer written questions.

    Answering a series of short answer oral questions.

    Observation of learners demonstrating the correct fitting of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

    eye protection
    hearing protection
    hard hat
    high visibility retro reflective vest
    This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909

  • This certificate does not require renewal
