Operate as Part or Lead an Emergency Control Organisation
This unit is critical for those appointed as wardens or emergency personnel and Chief Wardens or other leadership roles in environments such as hospitals, schools, industrial sites, and large commercial buildings, where efficient leadership and coordination are crucial to ensuring the safety of all occupants during emergencies.
Throughout the course, participants will learn how to lead emergency responses, including directing wardens, managing evacuations, and ensuring communication with emergency services. The training covers risk assessment, decision-making under pressure, and the use of emergency equipment and communication systems. Emphasis is placed on implementing emergency plans, coordinating with facility management and external responders, and ensuring that all procedures are followed during incidents such as fires, medical emergencies, and security threats.
This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.
Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.
Face-to-Face - Face to Face contact time of at least 3 Hours
Online with face-to-face assessment - Face to Face contact time of at least 30 Mins
The full in-person delivery option (replacing the online blended component) requires a minimum of five participants per session.An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
Capability to complete the practical demonstrations for the course, including:
Command, control and conduct regular training exercises
Conduct dynamic risk assessments
Control access to affected areas and monitor evacuation process
Ability to assess emergency and initiate action plans and procedures
Provide debriefing information and compile reports for the emergency planning committee and managementIndividuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
Performance tasks:
Prepare for emergency situations
Lead as a chief warden in a fire emergency
Documentation - The student must complete the following documentation:
Emergency evacuation incident and debrief form
Theory assessment:
A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions
